Arturo Fuente Double Chateau Sun Grown Review

Wrapper: Ecuadorian Sun Grown
Filler: Dominican
Price: $6.00 - $7.00

I do feel as though Arturo Fuente makes some of the best cigars. And for the price, you cant go wrong with a Fuente. When I was asked to do a review of this stick, I jumped on the opportunity.

The wrapper of this cigar was very sweet smelling and as soon as I touched it to my lips, the wrapper was just as sweet. As soon as I clipped this cigar and tasted it, I knew I was in for a special treat.

The flavors were excellent almost immediately. I started getting sweet flavors after the first few puffs. There was some sweet sugary flavors all throughout the smoke. Along with the sugariness, there were little hints of coffee coming through as well. There was a bit of spiciness, but it was very minor. The sweetness dominated throughout the first third of this stick.

Once the second third started, the coffee flavor became a little more prominent. The sweetness becoming a little more defined and was reminding me of a Heath Bar. These two flavors combines were unlike any other cigar that I have smoked in a while. The minor spice was still there by lessened quite a bit. Toward the mid point there was a little bit of a tart flavor coming into the picture. I couldn’t quite pinpoint what the flavor was but it was extra sweet.

The homestretch of the cigar was very good. The tobacco was generally sweet all the way through, and when combined with the sweet undertones made for a very good time. Te last bit of this cigar was very similar to the second third, but there was an additional flavor of cedar that entered the smoke.

Now this cigar’s ash was something to look at. The ash was a very light shade of gray, almost white. And it was strong as well, holding on for upwards of an inch. The aroma of this stick was quite sweet, but occasionally the spices tingled my nostrils. The only downside was the burn. For the first few inches it canoed quite a bit. But after that it fixed itself and stayed burning even for the remainder of the stick. This cigar finished very strong, and was a solid medium bodied smoke.

This cigar deserves a 8.5 out of 10.

Enjoy,

Zack the Stogie Man

  1. The cigar is blended to be complete bodied while still getting a delicious smoke. This delicious blend exhibits circuitous tobacco with affluent coffee and dark chocolate tones.
