Last week I got an email from Holt's Cigar Company saying that they just received the new cigar from My Father Cigars. I have been hearing about this cigar for a little over a month and was very excited when I learned they were received.

Yesterday I had a little over an hour to go head up and grab some. I smoked one while I was there, and was blown away. When I got home, I relaxed for a little bit, then went out back around 8:00 to review it.

The sun grown wrapper is a medium shade of brown with a couple veins running through it. None of the veins were thick by any means. The cap was perfectly flush and evenly wrapped. This was a very solid box-pressed cigar. Usually box-pressed cigars tend be a bit softer, not this one. I also noticed that this cigar gave off a very sweet smell.

This cigar was sent to me a couple months ago in a trade. I was pretty excited when I saw this cigar in the package because it was new to me. I have had many other My Father cigars, and reviewed a couple of them, but this one is exclusive to Atlantic Cigar Company. When I got home from work on Friday, it was absolutely beautiful outside, and it was just the perfect day to relax and review this cigar.

This cigar looks flawless in ever aspect. It truly is a miracle that I haven't smoked it prior to this. The wrapper is very smooth to the touch and is a medium shade of brown. The cigar itself is box pressed and is capped with three flush layers.

There is also a slight oily shine to this cigar. There are a fer very thin veins running through this cigar. The cigar itself is pretty solid, especially for a box-pressed cigar. The smell coming off of this cigar is reminiscent of sweet chocolate.

The past few days have been very cold here in New Jersey. So, my ability to smoke and review a cigar a fairly limited. On Saturday I went over to Holt’s Cigars in Northeast Philadelphia so I could enjoy a cigar in a warm environment. When I arrived, there was a sign on the door saying that it was inventory day, and they would be closing at 3:00. I looked at my watch and noticed it was 2:45. Well after driving over there, I wasn’t going to not buy anything. Well then I started to talk to their General Manager, and invited me back into the Members Lounge where I could relax and do my review. This was greatly appreciated.

The first thing I noticed about this cigar was the cedar sleeve that covers this cigar. Once the cedar is removed, the beautiful medium brown wrapper is exposed. The wrapper is very smooth and oily. There is a perfectly flush triple cap on this cigar as well. There is only one very thing vein running on the underside of this cigar. The cigar looks perfect in every way. The cigar is also very solid with a slightly softer foot which made it very easy to light.

My Father Le Bijou 1922 Review

My local cigar shop just got their shipment of My Father cigars in a few weeks ago, and I had never had the opportunity to smoke one. So when they came in, I had to get my hands on a few.  After I enjoyed a couple of them, I figured I would do a write up.

This cigar has a dark brown wrapper. The wrapper is very sweet smelling, resembling chocolate. The construction of this cigar is very solid with no soft spots at all. There weren’t any veins present that had any possibility of altering the burn pattern at all.

As soon as this cigar is lit, the flavors come out. There were very prominent flavors of pepper and chocolate with subtle background hints of wood and coffee. As the stick progressed, the pepper flavor subsided quite a bit giving way to sweetness of the chocolate and coffee.
