First off, I want to say this is one of my all time favorite cigars. The flavors are amazing, and the smoke is delicious.  Now this stick has a very full body. It will knock you back if every once and awhile. The first time I had one, I was already feeling its strength before the halfway mark.

The construction of this cigar is amazing to say the least. The combination of the different tobaccos make this stick easily enjoyable over and over again. The cut is clean and the draw is easy. This is a great cigar to relax with in the back yard.

The first taste of this stick is very spicy and earthy. The spice flavor is a subtle mix of pepper and other spices, and the earthiness is accented with flavors of woods and and leather. After a few draws, the peppery flavor slightly diminishes and a sweeter flavor comes into the picture.

I just want to start out by saying how intimidating I thought this cigar was. Mainly for the fact that is it black. It was by far one of the darkest cigars I have ever come across.

As soon at the cigar touched my lips, I could taste the sweet flavors that the wrapper had. Very sweet flavors of coffee and sugar. The cigar cut very nice and lit with no problem. The draw was exceptional on this stick. I could easily feel its medium body with every puff. The wrapper was amazing; very chewy and oily.

The first third of the cigar had very distinct flavors of coffee and sugar. Both were were very dominant and combined beautifully. The nice slow burn made each of these flavors just linger on the palate for quite awhile. Each puff from this stick produced a good amount of white smoke.

As another member of the J. C. Newman family, this cigar has big shoes to fill. The cut was very clean and even and the light was extremely easy. The draw was so easy and produced a good amount of smoke. The

draw was so easy, that it caused the cigar to burn down pretty fast.

I could tell by the light flavor of the wrapper and the look of the cigar that this stick was a medium to full body. Even though it was strong, it wasnt harsh by any means. And the ash was very solid, and multiple

shades of lighter gray.

I want to start off by saying that this cigar came highly recommended to me, so I felt it was a perfect candidate for a review.

Lets start off by talking about the shape, unique to say the least, with just a little tip on the foot to light. Because of how small the tip on the foot was, it was amazingly easy to light. The cigar was very tight, which led to a slow, delightful burn. As soon as I put the cigar to my lips, the wrapper was very sweet. Little hints of honey and cinnamon were all over the oily wrapper. The wrapper was very chewy and loaded with flavor.

Before I get too into the description of this cigar, I just want to say that I have been waiting for the perfect time to smoke this cigar, because I had a feeling it was going to be a strong cigar. And it was a medium to full bodied smoke.

 

Well once I cut the cigar and took a pre-puff to feel the draw, I knew it was going to be a quick smoke. The cut led to very minimal peeling, and the draw led to an effortless smoke. The fact that the draw was effortless, made me enjoy it that much more.

The flavor of his cigar was well, not amazing to start. There was a strong general tobacco flavor. Usually you can get a good earthy taste out of a maduro, but this one didn't have that much to offer early on. Throughout the first half of the cigar, I was getting subtle hints of coffee and cocoa, but as I said, they were just getting overpowered by the tobacco flavor.

Prior to April 1, 2011, I had never experienced a Diamond Crown cigar. But on that day, I went to my very first Cigar Event, where the feature was Diamond Crown Cigars. So I figured, why not give them a try? So the deal was to buy any 3 Diamond Crown or Diamond Crown Maximus and get 1 free. So thats what I did. I am partial to full bodied cigars, as you have seen in my previous posts, so I grabbed 2 of the Maximus cigars. Right after my purchase I went outside, cut the end of a Maximus and enjoyed my time there. I didn't have anything to jot down notes, so I had to save my other Maximus until I had time to write a review.
