Alec Bradley New York Six Two Review

Wrapper: Honduran Havana 98 Criollo
Filler: Honduran and Nicaraguan
Price: $6.00 - $7.00

Last Thursday, April 19th, there was a huge Alec Bradley event at Holt's Cigar Company. When I got up there I noticed they had several of these cigars there. Since I am in Philadelphia, it is extremely difficult to get my hands on cigar that are exclusive to a specific area. I was lucky enough to snag a whole box of these cigars. And since I will be up in New York City on Tuesday, I wanted to review this cigar immediately.

The Honduran Havana 98 Criollo wrapper n this cigar is a medium shade of brown and very smooth. There is also a slightly oily shine to the cigar. Like most cigars, there were a couple very thin veins running throughout this cigar, but nothing to worry about.

The cap was actually composed of four separate layers. All of the layers were perfectly flush with the rest of the cigar. The stick itself was solid and uniform throughout and gave off a very strong and earthy smell.

Alec Bradley Family Blend M23 Review

Wrapper: Honduran
Filler: Honduran and Nicaraguan
Price: $7.00 - $8.00

If there is one thing that I enjoy doing, it is smoking a good cigar early in the morning. Well this past Saturday started off pretty boring. I decided to go out for a little bit and go enjoy some cigars. So I went up to Holts because I knew it would be quiet and I could relax and review some cigars. So as I walked into their humidor to try and find something different, I came across this cigar. I have heard several people say it is their favorite Alec Bradley, so I decided it was time to review this one.

This wrapper has a very nice medium brown wrapper to it. There are a couple thin veins running through it, but none of them pose any threat to the burn pattern. The cap of this cigar appears to be wrapped instead of layered and it comes to a little twist at the end.

Alec Bradley Black Market Toro Review

Wrapper: Nicaraguan Maduro
Filler: Panama & Honduras
Price: $7.50

As many of you know, Alec Bradley is constantly pumping out new blends. The Black Market is one of his newest blends that I have had my eyes on. When I finally got my hands on a couple, I smoked one right away and set one aside to do this review on. I have been asked several times when I was finally going to review this cigar, so I gave in a reviewed it.

The Maduro wrapper is very nice. It is dark brown, oily, and very smooth. There are also no thick veins throughout the entire length of the cigar. There are a couple very thing veins, but these would not throw off the burn pattern in the slightest. This cigar is also very solid except right around the cap. There is a very distinct smell off sweetness and coffee coming off of this cigar as well. The band is also eye catching. It covers from the foot to about halfway up the stick with a black stamp saying “BLACK MARKET.”

Alec Bradley Prensado Robusto Review

Wrapper: Honduran Corojo
Filler: Honduran, Nicaraguan
Price: $8.00

I have been on a mission for some time now to find an Alec Bradley cigar that I really like. Several people have told me to look into this one. So when I went up to The Smoking Dog Friday night, the owner got in a few samples. She wasn’t completely sure what these were like, so she asked me to see what I thought on it. I figured it was a great time to see if it was the one I would like.

This cigar appears to be flawless. The wrapper is a chocolate shade of brown and very smooth. There is a nice oily sheen to the stick as well. The wrapper has a couple very thin veins. The stick is a very solid box press. Usually with box pressed cigars, they are softer. Not this one. The cap is perfectly flush. This stick gives off a sweet and earthy smell. The cigar cut clean and lit very easily.

The flavor was very spicy right off of the light. The spice quickly mellowed out and gave way to some strong earth tones. Once the earthy tones came out, there was a good amount of oak that came out. There were also some sweet hints of chocolate. The combination of oak and chocolate sat on the tongue. There was also a little bit of leather that built up on my palate.

Alec Bradley Crescendo Interlude Review

Wrapper: Honduran
Filler: Nicaraguan and Honduran
Price: $6.75

From my past experiences with Alex Bradley cigars, I have learned they are seriously hit or miss. When I was walking around one of my local shops, I picked this one up to give it  a shot. I thought it looked like a good cigar to enjoy in the morning. So after sitting in my humidor for a couple weeks it was time to give it a try.

The Honduran wrapper was a medium shade of brown with a nice shine to it. There were no veins on the wrapper that would alter the burn pattern in any way. The only flaw I found in construction was a soft spot on the underside by the band. The cigar also gave off a bitter pre-light aroma.

Alec Bradley Tempus Terra Novo Review (Saturday Morning Smoke)

Wrapper: Habano-seed Tobacco from the Nicaraguan and Honduran Border
Filler: Cuban-seed long fillers from Nicaragua and Honduras
Price: $7.00 - $8.00

As you have probably read in some of my previous reviews, I did an event a few months back, and this was one of the cigars that was given to me to do a review on. So this cigar has been sitting in my humidor since early may and I was waiting for that perfect time to smoke it. So this past Saturday, I woke up, grabbed this cigar, and sat out back of my house before it got too brutally hot. It wound up hitting 106 degrees. So luckily I could enjoy this cigar while it was only in the low 90s.

The cigar had a beautiful dark brown wrapper with only a couple medium sized veins. There wasn’t anything to be to worried about. The cap was perfectly flush and there were also absolutely no soft spots. The cigar had a great sweet tobacco smell to it as well.

Alec Bradley Harvest Selection 1997 Review

Wrapper: Nicaraguan Habano

Filler: Combination of Dominican Piloto Cubano, Mexican Ligero, and
       Nicaraguan Criollo

Price: $5.00

Now as you can see from my past reviews, I am not much for mild bodied cigars. But, I heard from a few people that this was a fairly good smoke, and I bought it in a sampler pack awhile back, so I figured I would write it up.

At first take, the cigar smelled pretty good. It was also very tightly packed. Once I clipped it and lit it up, the draw was surprisingly easy. The cigar burned a lot faster than i expected it too as well.

I'm going to say this ahead of time... there weren't any strong flavors at all in this stick. If I had to say what I was tasting, it was just a toasty earthiness with very subtle hints of spice. After I was about an inch in or so, the flavor was primarily just a generic sweet tobacco taste.

Alec Bradley MAXX "The Fix" Review

Wrapper: Nicaraguan Maduro
Filler: Colombian, Nicaraguan, Honduran, Mexico

Price - $7.00

Before I get too into the description of this cigar, I just want to say that I have been waiting for the perfect time to smoke this cigar, because I had a feeling it was going to be a strong cigar. And it was a medium to full bodied smoke.

Well once I cut the cigar and took a pre-puff to feel the draw, I knew it was going to be a quick smoke. The cut led to very minimal peeling, and the draw led to an effortless smoke. The fact that the draw was effortless, made me enjoy it that much more.

The flavor of his cigar was well, not amazing to start. There was a strong general tobacco flavor. Usually you can get a good earthy taste out of a maduro, but this one didn't have that much to offer early on. Throughout the first half of the cigar, I was getting subtle hints of coffee and cocoa, but as I said, they were just getting overpowered by the tobacco flavor.
